BLOOD RELATIONS

1- A is the father of B but B is not A’s son. What is the relationship of B to A?

Solution:

The relationship between A and B is of father and child. If B is not son then would be a daughter

Answer = Daughter

2- X and Y are the parents of Z but Z is not the son of X. What is Z to X?

Solution:

In the same way as in the question 1, X is either of mother or father of Z

So the relation is of parent and child but as Z is not the son then it would be a daughter

Answer = Daughter

CODING AND DECODING

3- In a certain code, SIKKIM is written as THLJJL, how TRAINING is written in that code?

Solution:

For solving a question in which we do not find any apparent similarity or clue. Write the whole alphabets in sequence and find the relation.

After writing the alphabet, give the sequence of the word and code. In the given word we find an alternative increase and decrease of 1 number i.e.

S+1 = T

I-1 = H

K+1 = L

K-1 = J

I+1 = J

M-1 = L

So in the same way, we go for an alternative increase and decrease of 1 number in the word TRAINING

T+1 = U

R-1 = Q

A+1 = B

I-1 = H

N+1 = O

I-1 = H

N+1 = O

G-1 = F

Answer = UQBHOHOF

4- In a certain code, JOSEPH is coded as FKOALD. Then, how will GEORGE be coded?

Solution:

There are 6 words in the name and there is no evident similarity between the name and code

So after comparing with alphabetical sequence, we find that there is a decrease of 4 numbers order in every next number i.e.

J-4 = F

O-4 = K

S-4 = O

E-4 = A

P-4 = L

H-4 = D

In the same way, we find the code of GEORGE

G-4 = C

E-4 = A

O-4 = K

R-4 = N

G-4 = C

E-4 = A

Answer = CAKNCA
